Carol Garrison Carol Garrison

I have been working as a freelance therapist in the field of bodywork since 1990 after completing courses at The Clare Maxwell-Hudson School of Massage. At first I used therapeutic massage, aromatherapy and manual lymphatic drainage and, after qualifying in the treatment of lymphoedema in 1996 at the Dr. Vodder School in Austria, now specialise in the treatment of lymphoedema.

Much of my initial training involved voluntary work experience within a variety of medical settings. I continue to review and update my training and completed an advanced course with Klose Training at The Foëldi clinic in Germany. I currently see private patients in South Woodford, London and work at The Cancerkin Centre lymphoedema clinic at The Royal Free Hospital.

During 2003 and 2004 I studied traditional Thai yoga massage with Kira Balaskas at The School of Thai Yoga Massage and have completed advanced training courses with both Kira and Asokananda, a leading thai massage practitioner who sadly died in June 2005.

I am a member of:

The Massage Therapy Institute of Great Britain
MLDUK
The British Lymphology Society
The Lymphoedema Support Network
The NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners
The Traditional Thai Yoga Massage Association

With special thanks to Juliet Wilson for being my model, Graham Lee for photography and for the use of Cambridge Natural Health Centre as a photographic studio.
